The Power of Social Media

Since I have been diagnosed with breast cancer, the support that I have received from so many people that I only know through social media has totally amazed me.  Messages of love and support are so kind and really touching.  They help me over through the tough moments.  Many people tell me their stories, how cancer has touched their lives and how they got through the other side.

I was sharing my fitness journey on Instagram before I was diagnosed and it only seemed natural to share this journey too.  I want to share my journey and leave it there for others to get motivation, inspiration, support and encouragement.  I remember the first 3/4 days after I was diagnosed I searched the internet for stories similar to mine, something or someone I could relate to.  I want other women to see my positive outlook on the situation.  My fitness helps me no end to power on through but also the love and support I get through social media, the people I speak to and connect with.

When I have tough moments, which I have plenty of even though you may not think so, I love to scroll through IG and get motivation to pick myself up and get on with it.  If I can help others, motivate them to get off the sofa and put on their trainers then I see its a job done my end.  My fitness is a lifestyle not a quick fix, I see it as me and what I am.  It has and is certainly helping me fight cancer.  If I can do it whist fighting this terrible disease then don’t let your excuses stand in the way of what you want.
